From the BME Achievement Awards to the EDI Awards
Established in 2010, the awards began as the Tees Valley BME Achievement Awards, showcasing the remarkable talents and achievements within our Black and Minority Ethnic communities. They quickly became a cornerstone event in the region’s calendar.
As society evolved, so did our mission. Inclusion goes beyond ethnic background: it embraces gender, disability, sexual orientation and more. That broader vision inspired our transition to the EDI Awards, a change that represents not just a shift in focus but an expansion of our commitment.
Today the awards celebrate fifteen awards across eight categories, honouring the varied ways individuals and organisations make Tees Valley a better place for everyone.
