Nominations Open for 2025 EDI Awards

The EDI Awards 2025, taking place on Friday 3 October at the stunning Kirkleatham venue, proudly welcome Tees Valley Combined Authority as our headline partner, with Teesside University and Moonrise 24 Hour Recruitment joining as associate partners. Stay tuned for more inspiring partners will be revealed soon as we continue building this incredible celebration of inclusion. Each year, the event welcomes more than 300 guests to honour organisations and individuals who are championing equality, diversity and inclusion across workplaces, businesses and communities.

The awards are open to businesses, public sector bodies, voluntary organisations and community leaders who are actively breaking down barriers and building inclusive environments. These efforts are key to the region’s future ambitions, with Tees Valley working towards the creation of 25,000 new jobs by 2035 and placing inclusive growth and economic participation at the forefront of its strategy.

Spanning vibrant towns, industrial hubs, coastal communities and rural areas, Tees Valley reflects a dynamic and diverse region where inclusion plays a vital role in shaping social and economic progress. Organisers believe the success of the awards reflects the deep-rooted commitment to fairness and opportunity across the region.

“The EDI Awards are more than a ceremony; they are a movement. Every nominee represents courage, innovation and a belief that inclusion matters. Tees Valley is proud of its rich diversity, and this event gives us the chance to celebrate the changemakers making workplaces and communities fairer for all,”

Shazia Hussain-Regional Coordinator

Given what’s happening across the Atlantic you might think diversity, equality and inclusion is no longer important. Far from it, it’s even more necessary. The opposite is uniformity, inequality and exclusion and none of us want that. That’s why the EDI awards are more important than ever. We need to celebrate and recognise those who embody the best of values”

Nazir Afzal OBE

Charlie Kemp – Head of Creative Place from Tees Valley Combined Authority left a quote about the upcoming EDI Awards: he said: “These awards are a fantastic celebration of people and organisations who make a hugely positive impact both in our local economy and across our communities.

“We are making incredible progress in our ambition to drive forward creativity and prosperity across Tees Valley. Our place is enriched when its diverse stories, cultures and skills are shared, and access is more equitable.”
